The situation was brought under control from thereon.
After meeting the Director, the protesters headed towards Konung Mamang and took out a rally from there to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister at his Bungalow.
The rally was stopped near City Convention Centre by the State police and a few members of the JAC were allowed to enter the CM's Bungalow.
In a memorandum to the CM, the JAC has served a 48 hour ultimatum to State Government to find out the the truth of the incident and arrest the culprit (s) involved.
The JAC also urged the Government to start a judicial inquiry with a police officer not less than the rank of a DSP as IO and the presence of a Magistrate and video coverage at the time of post mortem examination.
The JAC also asked the Government to compensate the deceased family duly.
The All Manipur Students' Union, Manipur (AMSU) has also demanded fitting action against the guilty and added that RIMS authority should be held responsible for the mysterious death.
AMSU warned that if the guilty are not identified and penalised soon, then they would be constrained to launch a series of agitation.
Speaking to media persons, Tikendra Athokpam, father of Sanaton Athokpam, said that the death of his son is highly suspicious and added that not getting any comment from RIMS till now is regrettable.
He then urged the State Government and the authority concerned to probe the death and penalise the guilty according to the law of the land.
