Steps taken up to clear backlog: Ministry of Consumer Affairs

Imphal, December 01 2015: Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has informed the State ' s Chief Secretary that certain measures have been initiated to ensure adequate availability of cooking gas in the State.

The Ministry's Joint Secretary Ashutosh Jindal today informed Chief Secretary O Nabakishore in black and white that certain measures have been initiated to effectively address the existing backlog regarding distribution of LPG refills to consumers.

The Joint Secretary informed that the Sekmai LPG Bottling Plant would be asked to work overtime in addition ensuring regular bulk transportation of LPG to the State.

Citing the ongoing campaign of The Sangai Express regarding sheer irregularities in LPG refill distribution in the State, the Chief Secretary wrote a letter to the Ministry informing about shortage of LPG in Manipur.
