Thief racket of 4 wheeler parts busted

Imphal, July 15 2014: Workers of Andro Kendra MLA Thounaojam Shyamkumar have on Monday caught red handed one vehicle parts thief at the gate of the official residence of the MLA located opposite to Kangla Moat near Majorkhul crossing on NH 2 and after his discloser, one shop keeper who deals in stolen spare parts was also exposed.

The duo were handed over to police.

Briefing the media over the case, one closed aide of MLA Shyamkumar informed that one professional thief who used to steel four wheeler parts was caught red handed at around 11:30 am while he was steeling the spare tyre of a Tata Magic bearing registration number MN 01X/3008 which was parked at the gate.

The thief was caught by the driver of the Tata Magic Konthoujam Somorendro (27), son of Achoubi of Angtha.

It is said that a team of Angtha people were travelling in the said Tata Magic for meeting their MLA Th Shyamkumar.

The thief was identified as Telem Robindro (35), son of Thoiba of Nilakuthi Keikol Makha Leikai and also disclosed that he is the person who stole one spare tyre from the same Tata Magic of Somorendro two weeks ago, narrated the MLA closed aide.

After Robindro's disclosure, one shop keeper who deals in stolen spare parts was also exposed.

The shop keeper identified as Md Rafizuddin alias Ningthem (48) son of Heshamuddin of Hatta Golapati was also nabbed by the MLA's workers.

It is also reported that Rafizuddin opens his shop at Hatta.

The workers of the MLA have also collected four number of wheel caps from the shop of Rafizuddin.

The wheel caps were stolen from a car parked at the gate of the Andro MLA on Saturday, the MLA workers claimed and added that Rafizuddin is operating a network thieves who deal in second hand spare parts steeling and the thieves are again categorized into battery steeling team, engine steeling team, tyre steeling team etc.

It is also mentioned that another such two shops are also opening next to Rafizuddin shop.

The MLA's closed aide further said that R Rafizuddin informed his network men that many vehicles were parking at the gate of the Andro MLA.

In this regard, Andro MLA Shyamkumar briefed media persons that second hand spare parts dealers are engaging drug dependent persons for steeling vehicle parts from the four wheelers and added that Govt.is responsible to check it.
