Recovery rate jumps to 90.92 pc : Two more succumb, official toll stands at 324

Two individuals died after contracting COVID-19 during the last 24 hours at Churachandpur District Hospital and JNIMS Hospital, taking the official death toll to 324 .
On the other hand, the recovery rate has risen to 90.92 percent and the number of patients who recovered outnumbered the new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
However, the death of an army Colonel, a 42-year old man from Imphal West and a 76-year old woman who expired at Shija Hospital on December 10 have not been accounted in the official figure.
The latest victims were both males, aged 75 and 50 and they were residents of Churachandpur district and Bishnupur district respectively.
According to a press release issued by COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman and Additional Director (Health) Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 54 people including one personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal West, Mother's Care Hospital, CMC, Escent Diagnostics, Shija Hospital, Jivan Hospital, Raj Medicity, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Ukhrul, Tameng-long, Tengnoupal, Chandel and Babina Diagnostics.
The 53 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (17), Imphal East (14), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (4), Tamenglong (7), Chandel (2) and Churachandpur (2) .
All of them are locals who do not have any significant travel history.
On the other hand, 151 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (95), RIMS (7), JNIMS (8), CCC UNACCO (10), Shija Hospital (8), RD Wing (3), Kakching (10), Ukhrul (5), Raj Medicity (1), Thoubal (3)
and Bishnupur (1) .
The cumulative positive cases, after reconciliation with the reports of IDSP, is 27,209 (general population 23,904 and Central security personnel 3,305) .
It includes 2,146 active cases (general population 1,937 and Central security personnel 209) and 24,739 discharged cases (general population 21,647 and Central security personnel 3,092).Meanwhile, the recovery rate made a significant improvement reaching 90.92 per cent on Monday.
