Imphal, July 14 2015 :
Ahead of the Special Sitting of the State Legislative Assembly tomorrow, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Assembly met today at 11 am to discuss the issues that are to be discussed during the sitting.
The BAC discussed the ways and methods on how to withdraw the Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers Bill, which was passed on March 16 this year.
No other point or business will feature for discussion during the Special Sitting of the Assembly, said sources from the Assembly Secretariat.
On the other hand, ahead of the Special Sitting of the Assembly, a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party will be held tomorrow at 9 am.
The meeting will be presided by the Chief Minister and will be held at his office chamber.
The meeting is expected to dwell on the finer aspects of withdrawing the MRVTMW Bill, said a well placed source.
The Special Sitting of the Assembly has been convened following the intense movement to withdraw the MRVTMW Bill and instead pass a legislation that seeks to protect the indigenous people of the State.
