Serto sworn in as Addl Judge of HC

Songkhupchung Serto, former Registrar General, High Court of Manipur, has been sworn in as Additional Judge of the High Court of Manipur today at Manipur High Court Room number 1 at 11.30 am.
The oath taking ceremony of Songkhupchung Serto was administered by Chief Justice of High Court of Manipur Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra.
The oath taking ceremony was also attended by Justice N Kotishwar, Judge High Court of Manipur as the presidium member.
O Nabakishore, Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur, LM Khaute, Director General of Police, Manipur and other high ranking police and civil officers also attended the oath taking ceremony.
Judges of various Session Courts, NDPS, CJMs and JMICs were also present at the oath taking ceremony today besides members of High Court Bar Association Manipur, senior advocates, advocates and other staff of High Court of Manipur.
After the oath taking ceremony Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad, Judge, High Court of Manipur interacted with the dignitaries.
It may be mentioned that as per the order passed by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice, Government of India, former Registrar General, High Court of Manipur Songkhupchung Serto was appointed as the Additional Judge of High Court of Manipur.
S Serto joined Manipur Judicial Service (Grade-III) on May 16, 1992.He was promoted to MJS Grade-II in 1997.He was brought to Imphal Bench of the Gauhati High Court as Deputy Registrar (Judicial) in 2011 .
After his promotion to MJS Grade-I, Serto was appointed as Registrar of the same bench on March 19, 2012 .
After High Court of Manipur came into existence and when the post of Registrar General was sanctioned, S Serto was appointed as the first Registrar General of High Court of Manipur on July 25, 2013 .
He continued to hold the post of Registrar General of High Court of Manipur till his elevation as Additional Judge today.
