Two kids, man reported missing

In a suspected case of child recruitment in underground organisations, two boys in their early teens have reportedly gone missing from their respective homes.
Soibam Surjakanta (13) s/o Somen of Yurembam Awang Leikai under Patsoi PS in Imphal West and Thounaojam Birjit alias Babloo (13) s/o Kumar of Tharoijam Maning Leikai failed to return after leaving their homes since November 28 and 29 respectively.
A sit in protest was staged at Yurembam and Tharoijam today demanding the safe and immediate release of the two boys.
According to Soibam Somen, father of Surjakanta, his son is a class VIII student at Pole Star Public School.
The annual final examination of the school ended on November 27 .
Surjakanta left his house around 3.30 pm of November 28 saying he would participate in a football match.
A missing report was filed at Patsoi PS the next day.
The same day around 11.30am, Somen received a call on his mobile phone from his son who informed him that he had gone to Kangpokpi for work along with one Mohori of Canchipur.
Finishing the sentence, the call was abruptly disconnected, Somen said.
Staff and students of Pole Star Public School have also staged a sit in protest demanding the immediate release of the student today.
Meanwhile, Thounaojam Kumar, father of another missing child, Kumar said his son is a class VII student of Pari Imom Khwai Sindam Shang.
He is also an NCC cadet.
His whereabouts was not known since he left his house in the morning of November 29.However, four/five days after he went missing, Kumar got a call from his son informing him that he was in Myanmar while also asking his father to get him out.
The sit-in protest held today at Tharoijam was joined by staff and students of Pari Imom Khwai Sindam Shang, Langjing and women folks of Patsoi, Tharoijam, Salam, and Maklang.
Both the missing boys also shared company.
Meanwhile, fathers of the missing boys appealed all concerned to release their children.
In an unrelated incident, a 35 year-old man also reportedly went missing from his residence located at Khurai Chingangbam Leikai Tinsid Road under Porompat PS in Imphal East district.
No trace of Oinam Goroba alias Ajit (35) s/o Madan has been known since he left his house in the night of December 10 around 9.30 to attend an Eshei programme.
Residents of Awang Kongpal Tinsid road area staged a sit in today at Khurai Tinsid road demanding all concerned to ensure the safe and secure release of Goroba.
Family members said Goroba opened a pharmacy at Raj Polyclinic some times back.
He did not have any link with any UG group while appealing the concerned group/s or personnel to release him on humanitarian ground.
