RN Ravi to visit Imphal; all political party meeting called on peace accord

Imphal, August 13 2015:
Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi has called an all Political Party Meeting on August 17 to discuss the impact and implication of the recently signed Naga Peace Accord between Government of India and the NSCN (IM) .
A reliable source said that Chief Minister Ibobi will chair the meeting from 3 pm at the CM's Secretariat where he will also brief the participants about his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Home Affairs Rajnath Singh.
India Government's interlocutor for Naga Peace talks RN Ravi, a 1976 batch IPS officer from Kerala cadre and who took a major role in the recently signed Peace Accord will also be visiting Imphal on August 22.The source informed that RN Ravi will discuss the framework of the peace accord with leaders of civil society organisations and political parties.
He has already telephoned most of the leaders of Manipur and informed that the peace accord consists nothing which could threaten the territorial integrity of Manipur, the source said.
Meanwhile, the source said that a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting will also be called on Friday (August 14) at 3 pm to discuss on the frameworks of the Peace Accord.
The source informed that all the Congress MLAs are likely to discuss on ways and means to maintain communal harmony and integrity.
