Imphal, June 13 2022: Lt Colonel Irom Ibotombi alias Keirungba alias Chingkhei (56) s/o late Irom Guno of Nambol Thangtek who reportedly surrendered to the Government of Manipur is a deserter, asserts the proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF).

According to a press release issued by the outfit's Assistant Secretary, Publicity Bangkim, Irom Ibotombi was dealing with financial matters of the party but he misappropriated Rs 13,41,500 which was supposed to be distributed to the party's cadres.

Saying that Ibotombi was incapable of accomplishing any task/mission assigned to him, it said that his departure would do no harm to the outfit.

The outfit categorically asserted that it would never hold any dialogue with the Government of India except on the issue of Manipur's sovereignty.

The State Government's alleged attempt to project the surrender of deserter Irom Ibotombi as a big achievement is nothing but cheap propaganda, it remarked.
