Imphal, November 12 2021:
BJP State unit president A Sharda Devi has asserted that every worker of the saffron party should dare to compete with 100 workers of the Congress party and possess the ability 'o respond to the charges of the Opposition boldly.
Addressing a one day political conference organised by BJP Thangmeiband Mandal at Thangmeiband Lairenhanjaba Leikai, A Sharda continued that BJP, unlike others which think of people at the time of election only, is one unique political party which remains in touch with the people since 1980.Saying that the primary objective of the BJP workers should be abolishing the political parties which have no vision and show their concern for the people only when election is near, she added that the MLA of Thangmeiband is from Congress party.
Thangmeiband is also home to a distinct spokesperson of the Congress party, she added.
Sharda also claimed that the Congress party disapproving of BJP is simply akin to the fable of the 'fox and sour grapes' as the former ruled the country for maximum number of years since independence.
Congress is one such party which claims Mahatma Gandhi as theirs but doesn't follow his ideology, Sharda said and added that BJP, however, acts in accordance with Gandhian socialism.
Recalling that Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed free ration to crores of people amidst the Covid pandemic, Sharda maintained that such benevolent acts signify the affection he has for the people.
She also recalled the schemes launched by the BJP Government at the Centre and State such as CMHT, Health for All, Go to Hills and Go to Village, Make in India and Skills India, among others.
Saying that remembering the people only at the time of election is not politics, Sharda urged the people of Thangmeiband to support BJP in the 2022 Assembly election to develop the constituency further.
BJP State unit vice president Jyotin Waikhom, on the other hand, stated that politicians jumping constantly from one party to another would not bring any good.
Stating that BJP is not a one man party, Jyotin claimed that people don't want the Thangmeiband AC MLA to join the saffron party.
Works Minister Th Biswajit and ex-MLA M Bhorot also attended the programme.
