Review meeting held at Senapati

Senapati, May 12 2020:
A review meeting headed by Districts in charge and Social Welfare & Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen, attended by DC, SP, SDO, CMO and CSOs of the district was held at the DC Office, Senapati today.
During the meeting, Senapati DC Somorjit Salam, IAS highlighted the members that there are 191 stranded natives from the district who are on the way from Chennai.
On their arrival, they would be lifted from Jiribam to the District Institutional Quarantine centre at St Xavier College, Senapati where they would be dispatched to their own community or village quarantine of their respective AC from there.
He also informed that there are 6 institutional quarantine and 3 community quarantine centres in the district and added that a new screening point would be opened soon between Mao Gate and Tadubi.
Dr N Dihe, district CMO stated that medical teams are made ready for every quarantine centre and can be contacted through phones for any health related problems during their stay in quarantine.
The CMO also advised to maintain strict social distancing and use of face masks to be made compulsory.
Civil society organizations also contributed to the meeting by making various suggestions.
Social Welfare & Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen who is also the District in charge for Senapati and Kangpokpi stated that lockdown 3.0 is very dangerous as people from other states and countries are coming in and could easily spread the virus if proper care is not taken.
The minister lauded the tireless sacrifices made by the frontline warriors including the CSOs while also giving advice to the people to take care of themselves during this critical phase.
Later, the minister visited the quarantine centre at St.
Xavier College.
