Imphal, August 11, 2014:
One Oinam (N) Maisnam (O) Sandhyarani was found dead in a grove of yam plants inside a household plot of Soibam (O) Aruni of Naransena Mamang Leikai.
Even as post mortem examination of the dead body was conducted at RIMS today, the corpse has not been claimed yet.
A JAC has been already constituted in connection with the controversial death of Sandhyarani and it has been demanding arrest of Sandhyarani's husband Suraj, sister-in-law Aruni and father-in-law Joykumar.
Police have already pulled up Sandhyarani's mother-in-law Baruni.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, JAC president Angom Basanta alleged that Sandhyarani was murdered before her body was dumped in the yam grove inside a household plot belonging to Soibam Krishna Singh and Soibam (O) Aruni.
Aruni is an elder sister of Suraj, husband of Sandhyarani.
Sandhyarani's parental home, her husband's place and the place where she was found dead are all at Naransena Mamang Leikai Ward No 2 under Moirang police station.
A frantic search for Sandhyarani was made at around 2.30 pm yesterday before she was found dead inside the yam grove by her mother Oinam (O) Memcha.
Memcha said that Sandhyarani and Suraj were married for about five years and they have a three year old daughter.
Suraj is a Territorial Army personnel and is posted at Leimakhong.
After their daughter was born, Suraj and Sandhyarani quarrelled very now and then over Suraj's extra marital affair.
Very often, Suraj thrashed his wife mercilessly with an intention to drive her out from his home, said the bereaved mother.
Around 10 days before Sandhyarani was killed, she returned to her paternal home and stayed there for some days before Suraj came and led away his wife.
Suraj came home on August 10 and his mother Baruni told Memcha that Sandhyarani could not be traced since yesterday afternoon.
Memcha then went to her son-in-law's home and Aruni's house searching for her daughter.
Blood stains and marks made by blood stained palm were seen on the walls of Aruni's house.
Outside the house, Sandhyarani was found bleeding on the nose with her mouth filled with saliva.
Strangulation mark was also seen on the neck in addition to injury marks on the forehead.
Memcha alleged that her daughter was murdered under a conspiracy by Suraj, Aruni, Baruni and Joykumar.
Saying that the JAC has already submitted a memorandum to the local MLA, Bishnupur SP and Moirang PS OC, Basanta maintained that all the culprits involved in the brutal murder should be booked within 12 hours.
