Dimapur, February 11 2016:
NSCN (IM) has demanded that Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG) chairman NK Singh be recalled by the Government of India stating that the chairman is a 'trouble creator' .
Addressing media persons in Dimapur, NSCN(IM) Ceasefire Monitoring Cell (CFMC) convenor Kraibo Chawang said as long as chairman NK Singh takes charge of the affairs there cannot be peace in Naga areas.
Citing a recent case, Kraibo Chawang alleged that chairman NK Singh was responsible for the stand-off at Mon district where Assam Rifles personnel cordoned off an NSCN(IM) camp near Neitong while accusing the Naga outfit of violating the ceasefire ground rules.
"Two designated camps were approved in Mon district in the year 2004 but we did not use the camps as there was opposition from some quarters.
We opened our camp in deep jungle inside Neitong area which is scarely populated.
But on Sunday, the Assam Rifles personnel, on the order of CFMG chairman NK Singh, surrounded our camp, asking us to vacate," narrated Kraibo Chawang.
According to the NSCN(IM) leader, Nokyan and Pongkong are two places approved by the Government of India for the designated camps in the year 2004."NK Singh said there is no designated camp in Mon district," Kraibo added.
"In order to avoid trouble we have agreed to move out of our camp," stated the NSCN(IM) leader.
He added that the Assam Rifles personnel left the place on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Kraibo Cha-wang said he had written on several occasions to the Central Government to recall NK Singh.
"This chairman, unlike his predecessors, loves to create issues out of nothing," he accused.
