The inmates of Vimala Raina High School whose dancing clips propelled the district quarantine centres (QC)s to the centre stage, have tendered an unconditional apology to the people for their act(s) .
In the video clip, one of the inmates said they would like to apologize to the people and the administration for flouting the quarantine norms.
'We are very sorry and it won't happen again,' said the man who spoke on behalf of the inmates.
With the unpleasant acts of some inmates making it to newspaper headlines, the Deputy Commissioner Pawan Yadav today instructed the police to begin patrolling and securing the periphery of the quarantine facilities in the district.
Several measures including surprise visits by officials to the QCs are now scheduled, and efforts are being made to keep the inmates under check, he said.
Meanwhile the local police last night apprehended three people trying to supply liquor to the QC inmates at Hermon English School.
In another case, the Churachandpur police registered an FIR under the Disaster Management Act and IPC against 4 known persons and other unknown persons for violating the SOPs of Quarantine Centres at Pherzawl district's En Gedi Quarantine Centre, Geljang.
The people against whom the FIR were registered are all Delhi returnees.
They are being charged under the Disaster Management Act for using abusive language against the quarantine in-charge as well as the security, police sources said.
