Imphal, April 09 2012: Union Minister of State for Defence MM Palam Raju will arrive at Imphal tomorrow to inspect the work progress of Imphal-Jiribam Road and border fencing.

The Minister would be accompanied by Director General of BRO, Lt Gen P Ravi, said an official source.

The Minister would fly to the border town Moreh after he arrives at Imphal from Nagaland by a special helicopter, it added.

The source said that the Minister would inspect the work progress of border fencing and general service roads being undertaken by BRO, it added.

The Minister would return to Imphal the same day and meet Governor Gurbachan Jagat and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh at Raj Bhavan.

The source added that Pallam Raju would be briefed by the Chief Engineer of BRO regarding various works taken up in the State.

The next day, MM Pallam Raju would fly to Jiribam by helicopter and gather a first-hand account of the construction works of Imphal-Jiribam Road being undertaken by BRO.

The Minister will also attend a reception programme at Tamenglong, the source added.
