Schedule for Rahul Gandhi's visit worked out

During his scheduled two-hour visit to the State on December 10, All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will inaugurate a State level convention for local self Government and UPA's flagship programmes at Hapta Kangjeibung.
Speaking to reporters at Congress Bhavan, MPCC President and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam said, Rahul Gandhi would inaugurate the Convention on Local Bodies Elected Members of Local Self Government and UPA's 16-Point Flagship Programmes at Hapta Kangjeibung.
The convention is the first of its kind in the whole country, he added.
Gaikhangam said that the Congress General Secretary would arrive Imphal at around 11 am and leave the State capital after the inauguration of the convention.
The Deputy Chief Minister added that the State Government would apprise Rahul Gandhi on different issues.
The General Secretary will also interact with around 200 volunteers of the State Youth Congress and NSUI near the convention venue.

Appealing to all concerned not to call any bandh on the said day, Gaikhangam urged the people to cooperate and enable the elected representatives of local self Government to take part in the scheduled convention.
The convention would also educate the mass on the flagship programmes of the UPA Government, he added.
Regarding the brawl between Agriculture Minister Abdul Nasir and a Congress political worker at the recently concluded Manipur Sangai Festival, the Deputy Chief Minister termed the incident as unfortunate.
He has directed the Minister not to repeat such ugly instances in future, Gaikhangam said, the matter has already been resolved.
Meanwhile, a ministerial team led by Chief Minister O Ibobi and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam today inspected the convention venue at Hapta Kangjeibung.
