Imphal, October 08 2015:
As observed in different parts of the world, the World Sight Day was observed today at Shija Hospital auditorium under the aegis of Shija Eye Care Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Shija Hospital Managing Director Dr Kh Palin said that around 4000 people are diagnosed and treated for different eye problems in the State every year.
More than 50 per cent of the eye problems are diagnosed and treated in Shija Eye Care Foundation, he claimed.
Eye sights can be restored to many people who have been blinded by cornea if the State Government gives Shija Eye Care Foundation permission for cornea transplantation.
Dr Palin also highlighted the importance of extending health care services to far off and remote places of the State.
Altogether 20 volunteers who assisted Shija Eye Care Foundation in organising different eye camps were also felicitated at the function.
