House session from July 25

The State Cabinet has decided to convene the second session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly from July 25 .
A Cabinet meeting was held today with Chief Minister N Biren in the chair and the meeting which started at 10 am lasted for almost three hours and a half.
Even though the State Cabinet agreed to convene the next Assembly session from July 25, the Business Advisory Committee would decide other details like the number of days the session should last.
The State Cabinet gave its consent to constitution of a State level committee comprising the Chief Secretary, administrative secretaries and the Managing Director of Manipur Police Housing Corporation for management and utilisation of Government transit accommodations and quarters.
Implementation of the Rani Gaidinliu Nupisingi Scheme which was also listed in the BJP manifesto and the Government's 100 Days Action Plan was one agenda okayed by the State Cabinet, sources informed.
Under this scheme, children of families whose annual incomes are lower than Rs 2.50 lakh would be given Rs 50,000 in two instalments.
The Cabinet meeting agreed to launch a scheme of providing scooty to meritorious female college students.
Under this scheme, meritorious female students whose families' annual incomes are lower than Rs 8 lakh would be given scooty.
If the student is studying in either Science or Commerce stream, she should score not less than 80 per cent marks to qualify for the scheme.
If she is studying in Arts stream, she should score 75 per cent marks.
The State Cabinet also gave green signal to a new programme of giving one-time incentive of Rs 50,000 to students belonging to landless families or poor peasants if they are pursuing technical courses in the State.
Recruitment of nine staff for Smart City Project and management of ISBT Khuman Lampak in PPP model after inviting tender are two other agenda which were okayed by the State Cabinet.
To promote e-vehicles by reducing registration fees under Manipur Electronic Mobility Policy 2022 was another agenda approved at the Cabinet meeting.
The Cabinet meeting also agreed to go for direct purchase of land in order to develop and enlarge the Moirang INA complex.
Construction of a VVIP guest house at North AOC under PPP model was also okayed by the State Cabinet.
The State Cabinet also agreed to dissolve JNIMS Society in order to pave way for management of JNIMS by the State alone.
The Cabinet also agreed to recruit some staff to start the office set-up of Churachandpur Medical College.
Considering shortage of staff in the Revenue Department, the Cabinet meeting agreed to make appointments to 700 posts.
The Cabinet meeting further agreed to give ex-gratia of Rs two lakh each to the families of the two residents of Moreh who were shot dead in Myanmar.
