Imphal, October 07 2015:
The Tangkhul Naga Gazetted Officer Welfare Association (TNGOWA) has expressed strong resentment and disappointment with the appointment of a new Chief Secretary of Manipur by superseding the seniority of a tribal IAS officer Ameishing Luikham, reports our Ukhrul correspondent.
Speaking to the press, members of TNGOWA stated that the favouritism of the State Government has deprived the promotional rights of a senior tribal officer and added that it is also an act of deliberately depriving the rightful claims of tribal officers.
The TNGOWA also demanded the State Government to justify why O Nabakishore, an IAS cadre of 1984 batch, was appointed overlooking Ameising Luikham who is an IAS officer of the batch of 1981 .
The bias and step motherly treatment has exposed the systematic exploitation to tribal employees, said TNGOWA.
It further questioned the responsibilities of tribal MLAs who have allegedly shown no concern.
They also stated that Ameishing Luikham IAS has faithfully served the State Government as well as at the Centre with sincerity.
He is a man of integrity, which is well known from his past performances while he was heading various departments in the State, said TNGOWA.
The TNGOWA demanded rectification of the appointment of the Chief Secretary in the interest of the tribal people and to uphold service rules and promotion procedures.
