Imphal, September 07 2019:
Observing that keeping the Indo-Naga peace talk pending for too long is unhealthy, Lok Sabha MP (Outer) Dr Lorho Pfoze has expressed hope that anything which comes out from the peace talk will be good for all.
He was responding to a media query regarding the possibility of concluding the protracted Indo-Naga Peace talk, on the sideline of the 36th Foundation Day celebration of Manipur Hill Journalists Union (MHJU) which was held at Manipur Press Club, today.
The MP said that bringing a logical conclusion to the Indo-Naga peace talk is the desire of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Further reminding that the said peace talk has been going on for more than 22 years, he said that keeping the issue pending for too long is not healthy.
"It is the intention of the GoI's interlocutor RN Ravi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come to a logical conclusion.
But, I really don't know whether the conclusion will be in the way the Naga people want or not.
But, I hope that when something comes, it would be good for all", he said.
Noting that the State is settled by different communities having their own issues and problems, he opined that opposition raised by one community against the interest of another community and vice versa is due to lack of understanding among the communities.
Saying that all the communities residing in the State must understand each other and support each other, he said that the communities will be able to live together in peaceful manner only when they understand each other fully.
He added that if one keeps on sticking to a point, there will be differences among the communities.
Appealing to all communities residing in the State to understand each other, he also asked all to hope that there is no impact on Manipur when the Indo-Naga peace talk is settled.
