Moirang, September 06 2024:
In the backdrop of the unprecedented bombing carried out by Kuki terrorists using rockets, the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has announced a 'public emergency' with effect from today until the State's situation improves.
A team of COCOMI visited Moirang Mairembam Leikai and made an assessment of the casualties and damages done by the long range rocket fired by Kuki terrorists.
Speaking to media persons there, COCOMI convenor Thokchom Somorendro said that this was the second time Kuki terrorists targeted Meitei civilians using rockets.
Earlier, a rocket fired by Kuki terrorists landed in a paddy field of Moirang.
Targeting civilian population with rockets is something unprecedented in India yet the Government has not spoken a single word.
It only means that the Government of India does not care for the people of Manipur, Somorendro said.
It is known to all that the Central forces have been working hand in gloves with the Kuki terrorists.
It appears that the Government of India has been scheming to annihilate the entire Meitei population, he said.
A video of the ambulance, used by Kuki terrorists in bombing Koutruk from high-tech drones on September 1, driving out from among Central forces has gone viral, he said.
It is bewildering that both the Central Government and the State Government have been maintaining stoic silence even after Kuki terrorists have started using high-tech drones and missiles/rockets, the COCOMI convenor decried.
"We must now defend ourselves and protect Manipur.
Nobody will come to protect us", he said.
Asking if Manipur should survive on leftovers thrown by India, Somorendro urged all the State Government leaders to step down if they are not in a position to protect Manipur.
He added that the 'public emergency' will not cover schools, colleges and essential services.
