GM Changjou JAC sets date

Setting September 8 as the deadline for producing Gurumayum Jiteshwar Sharma for necessary trial in a legal court, a public meeting held at Singjubung Leirak Gurumayum Mandap yesterday has decided to launch intense mass agitation in case of failure.
Whereabouts of Gurumayum Jiteshwar Sharma alias GM Changjou alias Gypsy, who is the assistant publicity secretary of the proscribed outfit RPF has remained unknown after his arrest by the Army from a house in Dunkan Basti, Dimapur on the night of August 18 last.
The public meeting which was also attended by representatives of various student bodies, civil organisations and Meira Paibi bodies resolved that all the civil organisations, student bodies and Meira Paibis would join hands in launching mass awareness programmes, sit-in-protest, human chain formation, torch rally, relay hunger strike, mass court arrest, etc to exert pressure for producing Gurumayum Jiteshwar Sharma.
Organised under the aegis of Joint Action Committee (JAC) Against the Enforced Disappearance and Arbitrary Detention of Gurumayum Jiteshwar Sharma alias GM Changjou alias Gypsy, the meeting further resolved that a delegation of JAC should call on the Chief Minister/ Chief Minister in-charge to exert pressure for revealing the whereabouts of Gurumayum Jiteshwar Sharma as well as for taking up necessary measures with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and the Nagaland Government in this regard.
