Ukhrul police observe Canteen Day

Ukhrul, September 03 2016: Ukhrul police today celebrated the completion of one year of opening police canteen as Canteen day at police reserve line multipurpose hall, Phungreitang, Ukhrul, our correspondent reports.

Speaking at the occasion, Ukhrul SP Ningsem Vashum urged policemen to discharge their duty efficiently.

He also urged security personnel to contribute in the effort to bring peaceful atmosphere and also work relentlessly to improve the law and order situation of the State.

Through canteen fund, an SBI ATM booth was constructed in the police reserve line for the benefit of the general public.

The remaining fund were utilized for development of Ukhrul police and others, the SP said.

Additional SP (Operations), Ukhrul, Angam Ningshen congratulated Ukhrul SP Ningsem on being promoted to IPS.

He also urged all the attending security personnel to uphold the spirit of oneness and serve the people whole heartedly so as to strengthen the relationship with the public.

Tangkhul comedian widely known as stand up comedian Pakmi performed at the function.

Semmi Ramror SDPO, Chingai police station moderated the programme while commandant of 6th MR Ashok KR Yurembam, Additional SP (L/O) Lalminlien Misao and officers of all ranks from Ukhrul police department attended the Canteen Day celebration.
