Army movement blocked

Imphal, December 02 2024: Army vehicles coming out from 57 Mountain Division, Leimakhong were blocked today at different places by a large number of womenfolk over the disappearance/abduction of Laishram Kamalbabu from inside the heavily fortified military station.

As announced earlier by the JAC formed in connection with the disappearance/ abduction of Kamalbabu, a large number of womenfolk blocked army vehicles coming out from Leimakhong at Kanglatongbi, Makhan Lamkhai and Leimakhong army camp at around 12.40 pm demanding safe return of Kamalbabu to his family.

Kamalbabu who works as a supervisor of a construction company inside 57 Mountain Division, Leimakhong with assurance of his personal safety from army officers disappeared from inside the military station on November 25.The aggrieved protesters did not however disturb private vehicles carrying essential items and other private vehicles coming along the road giving them free passage.

On the other hand, womenfolk of Kanto Sabal and its surrounding areas stage a sit-in protest in the middle of the road leading toward Leimakhong at Kanto Sabal demanding safe rescue of Kamalbabu.

Kamalbabu (56) s/o late Kumardhon of Cachar Goshaipur, staying at Loitang Khunou at the residence of his elder brother went missing after he went to Leimakhong army camp on Nov 25 to look after the works taken up inside the military camp.
