Imphal, June 02 2011:
A relative of a Government supplier has been appointed as Sub-Inspector in Manipur Police skipping all the mandatory recruitment rules.
This has evoked a serious question whether the rules and regulations framed by the Government are not applicable to those near and close to Ministers of the SPF Government.
A reliable source informed that a close relative of a Government supplier who used to supply goods to Secretariat and other Government departments was recruited as an SI last year after the State Cabinet adopted a decision towards this end on the ground that his service was necessary.
The said individual was earlier engaged in repairing computers of Government departments.
Though mandatory for other candidates, no physical test was conducted at the time of his recruitment.
Moreover, there was no hint that he was recruited for any exceptional skill or outstanding achievement in any field, added the source.
