In a press conference held at the office of All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA), 21-year-old victim Sana (name changed) said that she and Alam Razzak Makakmayum (28) of Hatta Golapati became friends after she received a call in December 2011 when she was staying at Tura (Meghalaya) pursuing BSc Home Science in Central Agricultural University.
Razzak told Sana that he was studying Sociology in Pune at that time.
After some time, their friendship turned into a romantic relationship, Sana added.
One day in August/September 2012, she surprisingly received a call from Razzak when she was buying study material at Tura Supermarket.
Razzak told her that he had come to Tura to meet her.
As Razzak insisted her, they met at a nearby restaurant for coffee, Sana said and added that she however became unconscious after having the coffee.
When she roused back to conciseness Sana found herself on a bed with Razzak and came to know that she was raped there, Sana said.
Sana added that she repeatedly instead Razzak to elope that day itself.
However Razzak requested her to wait for some more time as they were still students.
After that day, Sana could not meet Razzak except telephonic chats.
When Sana insisted Razzak to marry her soon, she did not get positive response from him.
Razzak warned with uploading the photos that he had taken at Tura on Facebook if she talks about marriage again.
He also warned not to have any romantic relationship with anybody.
After the completion of BSc third year examination, Sana returned home on December 20 .
At around 8 pm the same day, she came to know that Tura photos were going viral on Facebook.
Shocked with the incident, Sana called on Razzak, but she could not get his line.
At around 8.30 pm on December 22, she suddenly got the line of Razzak.
He told her that he was on his way to home.
However, when he called again at around 10.30 pm, Razzak told her that he was in Delhi and won't come to Manipur again.
On December 23 at around 1.30 am, Razzak's father threatened Sana over the phone to face consequences if she continues to harass his son.
