NSCN-K 'Tatar' killed in ambush

Tamenglong, April 01, 2013:
A top ranking �officer' or Tatar of NSCN (K) identified as David Panmei alias David Loveson (40) was killed in an ambush laid by some unidentified armed cadres near a stone quarry at Old Tamenglong at around 3.30 pm today.
Son of Chingkhiukamang Panmei, David Panmei was coming from his native village, Thiulon under Tousem Sub- Division after Easter celebration when the ambush was laid.
He was currently staying at Happy Villa, Tamenglong Ward No.IV.
He left behind his wife and two daughters.
According to family sources, along with his two daughters, wife, mother and touring Catechist of Don Bosco fathers and sisters, David was driving his Gypsy when the unidentified armed cadres first shot him on his hand.
Immediately armed cadres who were in combat fatigue and numbering around 6- 8 of them surrounded the vehicle and then one of the cadres shot pointed his gun on his head shot him dead right in front of other occupants in the vehicle.
After killing David, the armed cadres searched his body and vehicle and pumped around 5/6 bullets on his body.
Wife of the deceased has lodged an FIR with the Tamenglong Police station.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the killing.
