Kut greetings

Governor Dr KK Paul, Chief Minister O Ibobi and others have extended warm greetings to the people of the State particularly Kuki-Chin-Mizo brethren on the joyous occasion of Kut festival.
Kut, the post harvest festival celebrated with full of gaiety as a thanksgiving to the Almighty for a bountiful harvest, symbolises peace, harmony and unity above the barriers of caste, creed and religion, Governor Dr KK Paul said in his greeting message.
The Governor hoped that the spirit of Kut would spread the message of oneness strengthening the social fabric more than ever and bring prosperity to all the communities in the State.
CM O Ibobi said the spirit of Kut is all about sharing, understanding, harmonious coexistence, cooperation and merriment and Kut has become a prominent festival of Manipur because of its secular and all encompassing nature.
"Let Kut 2014 spread the message of love, peace, compassion and forgiveness among the people of Manipur," the CM said while expressing confidence that celebrating the festival in its true spirit would help ensure peaceful coexistence among all ethnic groups and protect the age-old tradition of the people of the State.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar Singh, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Janata Dal (United) and United Committee Manipur (UCM) have also extended warm wishes to the people of the State especially Kuki-Chin-Mizo group on the auspicious occasion of Kut.
Major General Rajeev Chopra, IG AR (South) and all ranks of Assam Rifles extended warm greetings and sincere goodwill to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Kut festival.
IG AR (South) conveyed his message of peace, harmony, unity and understanding on this joyous occasion and wishes that the socio-cultural festival will bring joy, happiness and prosperity in the region by bringing together people of all communities of Manipur.
