Lakshman Prasad Acharya sworn in as Governor

Lakshman Prasad Acharya was sworn in as the 19th Governor of Manipur at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Imphal today.
Manipur High Court Chief Justice Siddharth Mridul administered the oath of office.
During the swearing in ceremony, Dr Vineet Joshi, IAS, Chief Secretary, read out the formal appointment of Lakshman Prasad Acharya as the Governor of Manipur by President Draupadi Murmu.
After taking the oath, the Governor received Rashtriya Salute and inspected Guard of Honour accorded by personnel of Manipur Rifles and Indian Reserved Battalion.
It is worth noting that Lakshman Prasad Acharya was sworn in as the Governor of Assam on July 30, 2024.He also served as the Governor of Sikkim from 2023 to 2024 .

Speaking to media persons after the ceremony, the newly appointed Governor expressed joy at being given the opportunity to serve as the Governor of a State that is bountiful in both nature and culture.
"I pray for happiness and prosperity for Manipur.
Let us work together to bring peace", he added.
CM N Biren Singh was also present at the swearing in ceremony.
Responding to queries, he said the appointment of a new Governor is a part of this "peace mission", he remarked.
The swearing in ceremony was also graced by Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh; former CMs O Ibobi Singh and Radhabinod Koijam, Ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary, Security Advisor, DGP, senior civil and military police officers.
