16 Opp MLAs in touch for Cong tickets

MPCC president Gaikhangam has claimed that 16 MLAs of Opposition parties from valley and hill areas of the State have approached to join the Congress I .
Gaikhangam was speaking in a press conference held today at the Congress Bhavan.
He maintained that details of the said 16 applicants would be sent to the high command of AICC for taking a concrete decision.
Out of the 16 MLAs, 14 applied formally to join the party and two approached verbally, he added.
He further maintained that out of 181 individuals who had taken application forms for the ensuing elections, so far 145 individuals from 60 Assembly segments have submitted their application forms to the party office.
Highlighting the possibility of getting Congress tickets by all sitting congress MLAs, Gaikhangam informed that a meeting would be convened on January 2 to finalise the Congress I candidates of the ensuing elections.
Meanwhile, the MPCC president also extended his warm greetings on occasion of joyous New Year 2012 .
