Rotary Club of Imphal organises car rally

Imphal, February 26 2023:
Rotary Club of Imphal organised a Rotary Car Rally to spread awareness on 'Save Loktak Lake, Save Environment and Say No to Plastic' along with promotion of 'Rotary's - The Four Way Test' on Sunday.
Commissioner M Harekrishna flagged off the rally from Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri and it culminated at Sendra, Loktak Lake in Bishnupur district.
The participants stopped at Nambol Keithel, Bishnupur Keithel and Moirang Keithel, where they distributed about 1000 eco-friendly cloth bags along with pamphlets inscribed with 'Rotary's - The Four Way Test' to the public to spread the message of 'Save Loktak Lake, Save Environment and Say No to Plastic'.
At Sendra, club president Pramod Jaiswal presented a plaque inscribed with 'Rotary's - The Four Way Test' to Loktak Development Authority director L Bhagaton, who appreciated the club for organising the awareness programme and encouraging public to use eco-friendly bags instead of plastic bags.
The programme was organised as part of the golden jubilee year celebration of the club.
Earlier on Saturday, Rotary Club of Imphal, as part of its continuing community service project, visited Yaibilen Children Home, Keibi in Imphal East district and hosted a lunch for the children of the home under the theme 'Rotary Chaklen Chamin-nasi' .
Eatable items were also handed over to the home for the children.
The food items were sponsored club member Yolga Yambem and Ramesh Agarwal.
Club president Pramod Jaiswal appealed to the general public to help save Loktak Lake and use eco-friendly bags.
He thanked the district administration and district police of Bishnupur for logistic support in smooth conduct of the programme.
He also thanked LDA director for the support during the awareness programme.
He said that the club has been organising tree plantation programmes at different places of the state every year to save the environment.
