The 13th National Voters'Day, 2023 under the theme "Nothing Like Voting, I Vote For Sure" was celebrated at the Multi-Purpose Hall, DC Office Complex, Kangpokpi on Wednesday.
Tfye function was organised by the district administration in collaboration with ERO 50-Kangpokpi.Speaking as chief guest of the function, deputy commissioner Kengoo Zuring-la explained that the main purpose of the observance of National Voters' Day is to create electoral awareness amongst citizens and to facilitate enrolment of voters, especially the newly eligible young voters.
During the event, the Kangpokpi DC also handed over Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) newly registered voters.
The day's function was also attended by Derick L Khobung, additional deputy commissioner; Bungba Maibam, SDO Saikul; DLOs, NYK Youth volunteers and students among others.
Senapati: Joining the nationwide celebration of the 13th National Voters' Day, the District Election Office, Senapati organised the com -memorative event at DRDA Conference Hall, Senapati.
In his address, deputy commissioner/DEO Mahesh Chaudhari informed that the machine for printing EPIC is already available in the district so that anyone can get it from the office without hassle.
He further informed that the ECI has brought lot of changes for old age persons and people working outside the state by enabling to vote from their own respective places through postal ballot.
Later, the DEO Senapati distributed EPICs to the newly registered voters.
The programme was by participated by DLOs, youth volunteers, students, political party representatives and CSOs.
Churachandpur: In line with the ECI's objective of encouraging participation of eligible voters in political process, the 13th National Voters' Day (NVD), 2023 was celebrated at the District Training.Centre (DTC) Hall, Churachandpur on Wednesday.
Besides felicitating and distributing EPIC to newly enrolled voters on the occasion, NVD pledge was administered to all present.
Sharath Chandra Arroju, district election officer/DC Chauracahndpur; Thien-laljoy Gangte, ADC; ERO/ AEROs, district level officers of different departments, political party representatives, members of voters literacy clubs of various educational institutions of Churachandpur, philanthropic organisations, civil societies, students and newly enrolled voters attended the programme.
Meanwhile, SP Churachandpur Shivanand Surve on Wednesday received the Best Electoral Practices Award, 2022 (for security management) from President of India Droupa-di Murmu on the occasion of National Voters' Day organised by the Election Commission of India at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantonment, Delhi.
The National Award was presented to the SP in rec ognition of his outstanding performance in the conduct of the last year's Manipur Legislative Assembly elec-
tions.
Surve is among the seven officers selected for the general awards in the country.
Bishnupur: District Election Office, Bishnupur celebrated the 13th National Voters' Day at Panchayat Resource Centre Hall in Bishnupur on Wednesday.
During the function, Elec toral Photo Identity Cards (Voter ID) were distributed to newly enrolled voters besides launching a song titled "Main Bharat Hoon" .
Ejaj Hassan, AC to DC, CMO Dr L Raichandra Singh, DAO (Agri) K Jugeshwor, ZEO N Chingkhei Singh, DIO (IT) T Shantikumar, DLOs and staff of DC office participated.
