Patsoi people elected good representative: Ak Mirabai

Imphal, November 24 2021: While claiming that people of Patsoi assembly constituency have elected a good representative, Patsoi MLA Ak Mirabai has said people of Patsoi AC are given full 5kg rice under PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana though the same was not given to people of Hein-gang AC.

Mirabai made this remark in her reaction to chief minister N Biren Singh's statement that people of Patsoi AC are unable to elect a good representative in election.

Addressing a gathering during inauguration of Radha Govinda Mandap/community hall at Patsoi part 1 Wednesday, Ak Mirabai said the statement made by CM N Biren against her was an attempt to take political mileage and it would not be right to speak anything without remembering history.

As people have elected a good representative, Patsoi AC is now a prominent assembly segment in the state, she said adding that inability to distribute entitled rice quota under PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana during COVID-19 pandemic was a hot issue in many assembly segments.

Though other constituencies could not open Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC) during the height of COVID-19 pandemic, two CHIC were opened in Patsoi with entire financial involvement borne from own sources, Mirabai said.

According to Mirabai, truth about Patsoi could be known if chief minister N Biren Singh properly assesses changes brought in the past 10 years and it was surprising that CM Biren spoke about Patsoi AC without knowing any point about the constituency.

If the chief minister really wants to make a remark about Patsoi AC, he should have conducted an investigation by sending his agents, she added.

Regarding development activities in Patsoi AC, Mirabai said preparations are on to black-top every road in Patsoi AC with fund from both plan and non-plan.

She also said that a total of Rs 30 crore has been earmarked to provide drinking water in every locality of Patsoi AC by 2022 but it would be difficult to develop everything in 10 years' time when no development was done in the past 37 years.

The inauguration event was also attended by local elders like K Madhumangol, M Ibotombi, K Binodbabu Singh and M Sundar and Zilla Parishad members, pradhans and ward members.
