Tool kit sets presented to artisans

Noney, October 22 2021: A distribution programme of tool kit sets for artisans of Gaithao Producer Company Limited was held on Friday at Agro-Ecology Resource Centre, Longmai Part-2, Noney district.

The tool kits were distributed under the SFURTI Scheme of Ministry of MSME.

The Gaithao Producer Company Limited under the initiative of RNBA is the implementing agency that deals in cane and bamboo crafts and furniture products.

Altogether 87 sets of tool kits were distributed to the artisans of Tamenglong and Noney districts who had completed 15 days basic-training on cane and bamboo handicrafts.

Speaking at the event, Dimgong Rongmei, secretary Development & Relief Department RNBA, said that the project was being taken up by RNBA to enhance skills of poor local artisans, who are talented in the field of cane and bamboo based handicraft products which are found locally.

The main focus was to tap the export potential of Rongmei handicraft products by doing the same work but doing it differently, he said, while urging the artisans to dedicate themselves to their products with innovative ideas to reach the top level.

Dimgong also stressed the need to focus on local products with innovative ideas and start our own businesses without depending on foreign products.
