One arrested, weapons recovered

Imphal, December 21 2024: Security forces arrested a person with one .32 pistol and recovered several arms and ammunition during operations carried out in different parts of the state.

According to a statement by Manipur Police Control Room, a search operation was carried out along Dampi Chingkhong Pareng located between to Minjang village and Wathalambi area in Bishnupur district on Saturday.

During the operation, security forces recovered one 51mm mortar, one 7.62 mm SLR Rifle with magazine, one modified sniper 7.62mm with empty magazine, one modified grenade launcher, two single barrel guns, four IED (7kg), two live rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two single barrel live rounds, two 51mm mortar fired cases, nine anti-riot shells, five .303 Rifle empty cases, five 7.62mm empty cases, one wireless handheld radio set (Baofeng), one bulletproof jacket, one camouflage jungle boots, one gum boots, and two BP Tron plates.

Meanwhile, security forces arrested one Jamkhomang Haokip from Torbung Bazar under Churachandpur police station along with one .32 pistol on Friday, the statement informed.
