Award winners of Shumang Leela Ningtham Kumhei announced

The Award Sub-Committee of the Manipur State Shumang Leela Council has announced the list of winners for various awards to be presented during the 21st Shumang Leela Ningtham Kumhei.
The festival, which began on January 6, will conclude with a grand closing ceremony on January 24, where the awards will be presented.
The highlight of the closing ceremony will be a special Shumang Leela performance titled 'The 3rd May', featuring select artistes from different Shumang Leela groups.
Among the prestigious awards, the Pidonnu Award will be conferred upon renowned theatre director Dr Ratan Thiyam.
The Shanti Award will be awarded to senior actor A Inakhunba; Moirangningthou Award to Purnimashi Leima, a former president of the Manipur State Shumang Leela Council.
Other recipients include K Tomba Singh, who will receive the Gojen Award for being the first female voice singer in Shumang Leela, and James Heikrujam, who will be honoured with the Gulamchat Ideal Award for his contributions as a male singer and music director.
The Popular Award, given to an actor with widespread appeal, will be presented to Kh Dhakeshwar, while the Modhumangol Award for excellence in music will go to musician K Devan Sharma.
The Oja Bori Award will be awarded to actor-director Momon Goswami.
Scriptwriter Okram Kunjo will be honoured with the N Birendrakumar Award, and actor Th Ramani Devi will receive the BJC Sharma Award, while the Babu Yaim-bi Award will be presented to Nupi Leela scriptwriter Nabadwip Ningthouja.
