Covid awareness, poster campaign conducted

The Committee on COVID 19, Manipur formed jointly by CADA, UPF, NIPCO, AMSU, UPACO and MAPI Council to fight the disease and effectively dealt with the pandemic continues to organise awareness campaign on COVID-19 at various places of the state.
The committee conducted mass awareness programme and poster campaign on COVID-19 at Heirok Keithel, Sikhong, Nongok Sekmai Keithel, Charangpat Keithel, Wangbal, Khangabok, Yairipok bazar to Kasom Khulten and some villages of Kamjong district on Sunday.
Volunteers of the committee also pasted posters on fighting COVID-19 at places where the mass awareness programmes were conducted.
According to a statement of committee's media coordinator Geetchandra Mangang, the mass awareness programmes enlightened people about the need to understand the disease or else it would be difficult to fight it effectively.
People were also encouraged to go for testing immediately on the slightest suspicion of contracting the COVID-19 to help prevent transmission of the disease to others.
Apart from enlightening people that early treatment will save human lives from danger, experts who spoke at these awareness programmes also stressed the need of getting vaccinated by people who are above 18 years of age as there is no means to prevent the disease except vaccination as of now.
During the awareness programmes, audio recording on maintaining SOPs issued by the WHO, health department and home department to fight the pandemic were also played using the public address system.
