Workshop on humanitarian law, NEP organised

United NGOs Mission-Manipur (UNM-M) organised a one-day workshop on the topic of "Questioning In Future- Of Manipur and International humanitarian law" at Sangai Hall of Imphal Hotel here on Wednesday to facilitate discussion on the opportunities and inconveniences which will be faced by future generations, and also on the rising number of sexual assault cases in the state.
Manipur High Court advocate Sevananda, Imphal Times editor Rinku Khumukcham, UNM-M secretary U Nobokishore, Human Right Alert director Babloo Loitongbam and UNM-M Women Committee Imphal West convenor Sinam Radhapryari spoke on varied topics as resource persons.
The participants also endorsed adoption of resolutions for putting an end to all forms of violence, maintenance of good law and order for the future, strengthening human rights, registering FIRs against Manipur police arid other security forces if they violate the rights of civilians, and forming a special committee for police reformation in accordance to UN and International Law.
On the other-hand, Department of Education, Manipur University organised a one-day national level workshop on 'Undergraduate Syllabus (Education) as per National Education Policy 2020' at CESD Conference Hall, New Social Science Block of the varsity on Wednesday.
The workshop was attended by Manipur University VC Prof N Lokendra Singh as chief guest and Department of Education head Dr Premlata Maisnam as president while Department of Education, Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar Prof Elizabeth Hangsing, MU School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences dean Prof K Yugindro Singh and School of Education dean Prof Takhellambam Inaobi Singh were present as guests of honour.
