DSSS conducts training on plant protection & farm bio inputs preparation

Noney, July 18 2022: Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) today organised an one day training programme on "Plant Protection and On Farm Bio Inputs Preparation" for Dilung Farmer Producer Company Ltd under Mission Organic Value Chain Development For North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) Phase -III at Longmai Part -IV Peaceland Community Hall, Noney District HQ .

The programme was conducted under the sponsorship of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) .

At the event, RK Roshan, SMS, (Horticulture) KVK/ Tamenglong delivered a lecture on the topic, "Organic Crops Management of Ginger, Turmeric and King Chillies and its Plant Protection Measures" .

He also conducted a demonstration on Farm Bio Inputs Preparation.

Romila Phaomei, Field Organic Inspector, DSSS stated that under Dilung Farmer Producer Company, Noney there are 10 clusters and 15 Farmer Interest Groups ( FIG) consisting of 301 beneficiaries.

"In Noney District alone, there are 1300 beneficiaries and 4 Farmers Producer Companies", she added.

She also mentioned that the main objective of forming FPC is to promote and encourage farmers to plant more indigenous crops.

Martina Phaomei, DSSS staff; Guangjuanliu Gonmei, Field Inspector, DSSS; Henry Dangmei, CEO, Dilung Farmer Producer Company and Wilson Kamei, chairman Dilung Fanner Producer Company also spoke on the occasion.
