Kakching, February 17 2025:
Drinking Water Supply Association, Keirak, Kakching district, has appealed to all groups and organisations working for the welfare of the state and the public not to impose monetary demands on the association members and vehicles, which are responsible for supplying drinking water sourced from the Keirak Water Supply Scheme.
In a statement, Association secretary M Surjit said that its members have been providing drinking water to the public for a decent livelihood and support their families.
However, due to the current crisis in the state, the association's members are struggling to make ends meet, he lamented.
The secretary said that during this challenging time, many members are facing significant difficulties in clearing vehicle instalments and repairing of vehicles.
Given these hardships, Surjit urged all organisations and groups to refrain from imposing monetary demands on its members.
He also disclosed that they have also been supplying water to village volunteers and relief camps sheltering internally displaced persons.
