AR conducts wreath laying ceremonies, security meet

Imphal, August 13 2022:
Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a wreath-laying ceremony to honour the patriots of the state on the occasion of Patriots' Day in Imphal West district on Saturday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that Assam Rifles paid homage to the patriots who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the motherland on the occasion and stated that their spirit of patriotism and sacrifice will forever be engraved in the history of Manipur in golden letters.
Meanwhile, Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday to commemorate the supreme sacrifice by Hav (late) Man Bahadur Thapa, Rfn (late) Dharmesh Singh, Rfn (late) Bahadur Singh Rawat, Rfn (late) Vunkhalian and Rfn (late) Lalthoun Gangte on August 13 in 1991 during an ambush by unknown insurgent at Lungreiphung, Manipur.
The representatives of the Battalion also visited the veer naris to felicitate them and assured them of any assistance required at any point from the battalion.
Meanwhile, Phundrei Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a security meet with village GBs at Sugnu in Kakching district on Saturday which was attended by a total of 40 GBs.
All village GBs extended their full support to help Assam Rifles in curbing the nefarious plans of UGs and also to avoid any law and order situation which may hinder the growth of the society.
On the other-hand, Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a high teayvith veer naris and ex-servicemen of Churachandpur district on the occasion of celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on Saturday at HQ Veng, Churachandpur.
