Rally marks International Human Rights Day

As part of its 16-day Activism against Gender-based Violence Campaign, Integrated Rural Development Service Organisation (IRDSO), Wangjing organised a mass rally to commemorate the International Human Rights Day on Thursday.
The rally held in collaboration with Manipur State Commission for Women and Women in Governance (WinG), Thoubal was participated by people from cross section of the society including students.
It was flagged off by IRE-Group of Institutions, Wangjing founder principal Rajivkumar Narengbam from IRDSO office after which it passed through Wangjing Keithel and ended at the flag-off venue.
Speaking to media persons, IRDSO promoter Oinam Thoibi, informed that the rally was planned for December 10 in connection with the International Human Rights Day as a part of the Activism against Gender based Violence Campaign which commenced on Noyember 25, but had to be deferred to Thursday due to the unrest situation in the state.
Thoibi called upon the participants to fight for human rights as advocated under the year s observance theme 'Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now'.
During the rally, the participants chanted slogans and held placards such as 'Stop violence against women & children', 'Women & children should live without fear in their homes', 'Women & children are not toys', 'Justice denied akin to suppressing rights', 'Let's unite for human rights', 'Women's rights is human rights', 'Unite to fight injustice', etc.
