NMPO welcomes first SDO of Lairouching Block

Senapati, November 12 2021: The first sub-divisional officer (SDO) of Lairouching Block under Senapati district, T Shyamkumar was accorded a warm welcome by Northern Maram People's Organisation (NMPO) at Lairouching village on Thursday.

NMPO general secretary Tung Alex said Shyamkumar was felicitated as he is the first SDO of Lairouching block after CM N Biren Singh assured of a functional SDO office for the block on October 30 in a Go To Hills/community outreach programme at Maram Khullen while general secretary of Maram Union Pungdi P Celestine noted appointment of the first SDO as a gift from chief minister Biren in ensuring that SDO Block is functional and operational.

Celestine said Maram community shall cherish this gift that comes from God with a purpose through chief minister.

In his welcome note, NMPO president K Kamba remembered all the pioneers and leaders who had initially pursued for a SDO Office in Maram.

In particular, he mentioned names of former minister (L) Ng Luikang, former deputy speaker K Raina and former minister Francis Ngajokpa, (L) RK Peter, (L) Ng Karaiba and other leaders for enabling the present SDO at Lairouching Block.

Shyamkumar Kumar expressed his happiness as the first SDO of Lairouching Block and affirmed that he will try his best to fulfil the dreams of CM to make the block operational and said will also consult higher authorities for basic infrastructure requirements.

Lairouching yillage Authority offered a community house for temporary functioning of SDO Office.

Chief of Maram K Namba and other leaders spoke on the occasion and urged the SDO to ensure regular functioning of the office.

The event was also attended by Northern Maram Students & Youths Organisation, Northern Maram Women Organization, various elders and leaders.

Later, village elders and public leaders along with SDO and his staff assessed the land plot donated by the village for the SDO office and staff quarters, which is located along NH-2 .
