Imphal, September 12 2024:
Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL) has asked former Assam Rifles director general PC Nair to issue clarification and tender apology to the Meetei community for his biased and inaccurate remarks.
In a release, KKL expressed concern over the recent statements of PC Nair during, an interview with News 9 television channel in connection with the Kuki rocket attacks and drone bombings.
Despite multiple eyewitness accounts confirming use of such lethal weapons, the former DG denying the same attacks appears not only misleading but also dismissive of the gravity of the situation.
This is not the time for divisive rhetoric but for responsible statements that promote peace, truth, and healing in our society, the release continued, while adding that the Meetei community deserves respect; transparency, and a responsible approach from authorities and those in leadership positions.
It is imperative that such sensitive issues be addressed with care, ensuring that all voices are heard and that the truth prevails, KKL suggested.
