Five intending candidates join JD-U

Janata Day-United (JDU) Manipur unit organised a felicitation ceremony for five persons, who are preparing to contest in the upcoming election and joined the party, at its Hodam Leirak office on Friday.
The five intending candidates are Khundrakpam Kanba of Lamsang AC, Md Sikandar Ali of Wabagai, advocate Elangbam Amujao, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee ex-secretary Sanasam Gopa and social activist Salam Joy.
JDU national general secretary Afaque Ahmed Khan and state president Hangkhanpao Taithui welcomed the newly joined members.
In his speech at the felicitation event, Afaque Ahmed Khan said he came to Imphal Friday to discuss with state leaders about party's strategies for the upcoming election and also assess preparations being made for party's mega rally to be organised on December 18.Welcoming new members to the party, Afaque Ahmed Khan said joining of new members will strengthen the party while revealing that JDU will not enter into any alliance before or after the election.
He also conceded that the party is yet to decide on number of candidates to be fielded for the upcoming election likely to be held in early part of 2022 .
