Awareness programme on traffic rules underway

Senapati, September 10 2024: A two-day legal awareness programme on traffic rules & regulation organised by Senapati district police and Karong Senapati Town Committee (KSTC) commenced Tuesday at Mini Stadium, Senapati.

In her speech at the inaugural session of the programme , Senapati SP Anupam said many precious lives are lost due to accidents every day primarily owing to defying road safety protocols and stressed the need for everyone to be aware of the traffic rules and regulations.

The officer said that the awareness programme is aimed at better acquainting all concerned on varied aspects of road safety as it is not only the responsibility of the traffic police but involves pedestrians, drivers and everyone for safety.

Proper traffic regulations can be implemented with cooperation of all sections of public, Anupam stressed and urged all to obey traffic rules and make the town a smarter one by following the traffic rules to avoid accidents.

The inaugural session of the awareness programme was also attended by Senapati additional SP (L/O) Thangkhochon Haokip, additional SP H Timothy Maram, DSP B Lunthang Vaiphei, SI Talu Marcus and Senapati town commissioner Ng Luikang.

All commercial drivers including taxi, DI, Sumo, auto, school van and private drivers attended the programme.
