Two NSCN (K) cadres nabbed

Imphal, August 07 2015 : Security forces arrested two NSCM (K) cadres on August 4 and August 6 in separate counter insurgency operations held in Imphal area.

According to a reliable source, a combined team of 6 Dogra under IGAR (South) and Imphal West Police conducted counter insurgency search operation at Khuman Lampak Stadium on August 4 and nabbed one self-styled captain of NSCN (K) .

The apprehendee was identified as Chingkhurei Gangmei (29), son of late Phurilung Gangmei of Bamaijing, Tamenglong district.

The apprehendee revealed that he was involved in the June 4 ambush against 6 Dogra Regiment near Paraolong village in Chandel District which killed 18 soldiers.

Incriminating items were also recovered from his possession.

He was handed over to the Imphal West Police Station.

Meanwhile, troops of 45 Assam Rifles under IGAR (South) conducted search operation at Koirengei area on Thursday and arrested a self-styled second lieutenant of NSCN (K) identified as Jordan Malangmai alias Paokhamlong (40), son of Paolangkhwan Malangmai of Namching village.

A mobile handset with Aircel SIM was recovered from his possession.

Investigation revealed that he works as an Intelligence Officer for NSCN (K) and gives information about security forces in Jiribam to the outfit.

He was handed over to the Heingang Police Station.
