Imphal, February 06 2024:
Students of Manipur Technical University (MTU) organised a protest demonstration at the university campus at Takyelpat, Imphal on Tuesday denouncing the university authority's alleged differential treatment between students of different communities in the examination.
According to the students, some students are being allowed to take the examination through online mode and others compelled to take offline examination.
They cannot accept such discriminatory and differential treatment among the students, especially when all of them are affected by the ongoing crisis in the state in one way or another.
The University officials told the students that they will deploy staff in Churachandpur to conduct offline examination but who is willing to go to Churachandpur for the examination is a big question.
They are also claiming that students in Churachandpur took offline examination but they cannot produce a single answer sheet, except for photo copy, which is highly suspicious, the students said.
They further said that the University was not able to cover all the syllabus even with offline classes.
Students, who attended practical classes physically received less than 25 marks while those students, who are attending online classes, got more than 25 marks, which is highly questionable and discriminatory, the protesting students added.
