A newly constructed building for Young Union Club (YUC), Langthabal Phuramakhong has been inaugurated on Sunday by former MLA of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa assembly constituency Soibam Subhaschandra and a political meet was also held at the club's ground.
The political meet held in connection with the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election attended by people from different polling stations of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa later resolved unanimously to allow Subhaschandra to contest the upcoming election as candidate of any political party of his choice.
Addressing the gathering, Subhaschandra said that political conflict within the ruling party and political games played by non-politicians for selfish gains compelled him to resign from being an MLA prematurely but continued to work for the welfare of the people of the constituency.
According to Subhaschandra, he decided to complete development works initiated while he was an MLA as per commitment he made to people of constituency and accordingly completed construction of YUC building despite resignation from being an MLA.
He also said that several other projects he had taken up before resigning from being an MLA are on the verge completion and most of the roads in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC have been blacked topped now.
At the event, Subhaschandra also released achievement report about projects he had completed during three and half years of his MLA period.
