Don Bosco Maram principal Rev Sebastian feted

The Maram Centre (Bailangpou) village on Sunday felicitated principal of Don Bosco College (Autonomous) Maram Rev Fr Sebastian Karottupurum at Rev Fr NV Jose Memorial Auditorium of the College.
A release by Maram Centre Village Authority secretary K Phuba Simon informed that Rev Sebastian was felicitated on his receiving award from the Department of University & Higher Education, Manipur on September 5 (Teacher's Day) for his outstanding performance and contribution to Higher Education.
Speaking on behalf of the villagers, Alphonse Daniel expressed elation that the dream of the elders and pioneers of Maram is finally becoming a reality today through the achievement of the college in different arenas.
In his address as the functional president, former minister Francis Ngajokpa appreciated the missionaries who brought the college to Maram and made the sacrifice for the well-being and goodness of the local populace, the state and the region.
"In anything they do, they do it wholeheartedly, dedicating purely for the people making Don Bosco Maram achieve such heights within a span of 21 years," Francis said and further urged the local societies and leaders to continue to support the college and its authorities.
Addressing the gathering, Rev Sebastian thanked the villagers for their gesture and said 'gratitude and appreciation' encourage one to make extra efforts.
He also assured of doing the best he can to achieve higher heights and sought the cooperation of the local people in doing so.
The principal also asked the people to consider the college as the baby' and asset' of the area so as to enable it to nurture and grow.
He also thanked leaders of Mao, Poumai, Zeliangrong, Thangal, Kuki and Tangkhul for the constant support extended to the institution.
Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) president and Senapati District Women Association (SWDA) president also attended the event as presidium members.
Gifts were presented by Maram Centre Students and Youths Organisation, Sunday School Children and Women Society of the village.
